Avon Area Guide
The Heart of
the Valley
When it comes to exploring Vail Valley, there’s no better place to do it than right here. Located just minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek, Avon is at the center of everything there is to see, do, and experience in the area—from snow-filled skiing adventure to summertime lakeside lounging.
Vail Mountain Resort
At nearly 5,300 acres, the Vail Mountain Resort is the third-largest in the United States. These iconic ski slopes are a wintry hotspot that attract thousands of visitors a year, with plenty of restaurants, Bavarian-style villages, and shopping in the area to round out days of snowy fun. Take in the beauty of the Colorado Rockies during the summer from the top of Vail Mountain’s gondola stops in Vail Village or Lionhead Village. The expansive views from 10,000 feet above sea level are amazing.
Beaver Creek Resort
Unlock alpine adventure at the iconic Beaver Creek, located just minutes away from The Christie Lodge. Designed for skiers of all levels, the sweeping landscapes and rugged terrain are perfect for days of non-stop outdoor thrill, with over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain available. Beaver Creek summer activities include golf, biking, hiking, fishing, wine tasting, horseback riding and more.
Nottingham Park
Nottingham Park is the ultimate outdoor excursion in Avon. With fire pits, music, skate rentals and beautiful Beaver Creek Mountain as a background, Nottingham Lake is open seasonally during the afternoons and evenings for ice skating as the weather allows. The surface is cleared of snow daily and it’s perfect for family skating or a casual game of hockey.
Town of Avon
A strong sense of community, friendly atmosphere, and central location have dubbed Avon “The Heart of the Valley”. It’s here where many of the region’s cultural events are hosted, with concerts, festivals, and family friendly events taking place throughout the year.
